In the 2025 Legislative Session, I continue to work with Senator Will Barfoot and others to promote changes beneficial for individuals that seek to be paroled from the Alabama Department of Corrections. Below are some links to articles that further elaborate on the efforts being made for changes to be made to the Alabama Parole system.
Alabama’s Second Chance Bill-would allow for a reconsideration of life sentences given as a result of the Habitual Offender Act.
Alabama SB 157-pending bill would allow for Alabama Parole Hearing participation by all parties via telephone or something similar to Zoom or Google Meet. This bill has passed committee.
